Code Red
Fire Alarm - Rescue - Contain - Evacuate. Dial Stat Line ( ext. 6555) to report a Code Red.
Code Gray
Security Emergency. Clear area. Report all information to your Supervisor and Security (ext. 6565). Security Officer will respond.
Code White
Bomb Threat. Refer to bomb threat procedure contained in Disaster Manual. Report all information to your Supervisor and Security (ext. 6565).
Code Pink
Infant Abduction. Watch exits for anyone carrying a bundle or acting suspiciously. Report information on any suspect to Security (ext. 6565).
Code Amber
Disaster. Any community event causing an in-flux of patients or an internal event which interrupts normal operating procedures. Report to Supervisor for instructions. Refer to external and internal disaster plans contained in the BWH Disaster Manual.
Code Blue
Cardiac Arrest. Dial Stat Line (ext. 6555) to report a Code Blue. Physicians, anesthesiology, nursing, respiratory therapy, and unit management personnel respond.
Code Green
Urgent Medical Emergency. Dial Stat Line (ext. 6555) to report a Code Green. Provide service or specific physician needed. Appropriate medical personnel respond. If you discover any emergency situation that may not have been reported, call the STAT Operator at ext. 6555. Describe the situation or say the code, give the exact location, identify yourself, and answer any questions the operator asks. In the event of a Code Green, specify the service or physician needed.
