GECHS Affiliations and Programs

The Division promotes the active participation and professional development of faculty and staff with interests in global emergency medicine and humanitarian assistance. Additionally, the Division serves as the conduit for collaborative relationships between the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative and Harvard Affiliated Medical Institutions.

Harvard Humanitarian Initiative (HHI)
HHI is the center of humanitarian research and outreach at Harvard University. HHI coordinates humanitarian programs for the Harvard Medical School, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Radcliffe Institute, Harvard Business School, Kennedy School of Government and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.

The Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency Program
HAEMR coordinates residency training for the Department of Emergency Medicine in the Brigham and Women's Hospital and the Massachusetts General Hospital.

International Emergency Department Leadership Institute (IEDLI)­­­­­
IEDLI is an educational initiative sponsored by the emergency department at Brigham and Women’s Hospital that provides leadership education for current and future healthcare leaders in emergency departments worldwide.

The Division of Global Health Equity, Department of Medicine
DSMHI is a progressive program that establishes a multidisciplinary model for addressing medical issues in some of the world's poorest countries.
