Your Insurance Plan
Brigham and Women's Hospital accepts most insurance plans. If your insurance plan requires you to have a pre-approved referral when you see a physician, please call your primary care physician to request. Failure to do so may result in a delay or the need to reschedule the visit.
If you have questions about a referral or whether approval is needed, please contact your primary care physician's office.
It is also your responsibility to ensure that the service you receive is a benefit covered by your health insurance agreement.
If you need to update your name, contact information, or insurance information, please call a Patient Service Counselor (PSC) at 1-866-489-4056. Patients being seen at the Department of Neurosurgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital may also request a referral through Patient Gateway. To login or enroll, please continue to Patient Gateway.
If you do not see your plan listed on the Brigham and Women's Hospital Insurance page, please contact a Financial Services Counselor. A Financial Services Counselor is available to assist patients in exploring a wide range of programs and resources. If you require financial assistance, please contact a Financial Services Counselor by phone at 617-732-7005 or 866-736-1510 Monday-Friday, from 7:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
To speak with someone within the Department of Neurosurgery, please contact the Billing Manager, who can be reached by phone at 617-525-8144. The Billing Manager is available Monday-Friday, from 5:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. for all inquiries.
