Ultrasound Information and Contact
Each morning, patients from the Center for infertility and Reproductive Surgery (CIRS) arrive in the Ultrasound reception area and sign in. Patients are seen in the order in which they signed in. At our reception desk you will find an instruction sheet on the front of the tray to assist you with checking in. There is a sign in sheet for the blood work, a sign in sheet for ultrasound, a tray in which to place your ultrasound requisition, spare Call Back Sheets, and holder to place the completed Call Back Sheet. It is best to complete the Call Back Sheet ahead of time.
For some patients, it might be more convenient to visit our satellite office on Route 9 at 850 Boylston Street, Chestnut Hill. This Brigham & Women’s Hospital site is open weekdays only. Please call them at (617) 278-0560 for details about hours for blood work and ultrasound.
Paperwork
Patients need a requisition to obtain an ultrasound. If you are arriving on a weekday and do not have a requisition, you need to report to the CIRS to obtain one or CIRS may be called to have one brought down for you. If it is a weekend or a Holiday and you do not have a requisition, you will need to page the fellow on-call in order to obtain a requisition.
Scans
The Ultrasound Department is open specific hours every day for follicular monitoring exams. Patients not arriving during these timeframes should anticipate having to wait to be scanned.
