We accept many types of health insurance. If you will be using private insurance, please contact your insurance company to:
ensure that they cover bariatric surgery,
that Brigham and Women's Hospital or Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is within network,
and ask about the out-of-pocket costs you should expect.
If you will be using health insurance from your employer, ask about the above-mentioned items. You will also need to contact your Human Resources office to ask for a list of exclusions, or services that your employer does not cover. Some employers do not cover bariatric surgery even if coverage is offered by the health insurance company.
Administrative Program Fee
All patients are charged a $550 administrative program fee to help pay for services not covered by health insurance. We strive to provide the very best professional care and support while attaining your weight loss goals. This level of care requires a comprehensive program of dedicated specialists.

Program Fee Payment Timeline
A $100 non-refundable deposit is required at your Group Nutrition Class. Your appointments will be rescheduled if payment is not received. The remaining balance of $450, is due six (6) weeks after the Group Nutrition Class OR two (2) weeks before surgery date, whichever comes first. If the fee is not paid in full before surgery date, your surgery will be cancelled. Please contact our Billing and Insurance Coordinator to discuss a plan if you are having trouble paying the fee.
Program Fee for Revisional Surgery Patients & Patients from Outside Hospitals
For patients seeking revisional surgery or transferring care to our program from an outside facility, the program fee is $250. The payment timeline is described above.
