MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY
Course Code: BPD010
This is a 10-week long course
Cost for class and textbooks: $138.95 for BWH employees and $213.95 for Partners employees.
Basic Medical Terminology is 20 hours of instruction in medical language for allied health professionals. Students learn to analyze, decipher, spell and pronounce medical terms. Emphasis is placed on understanding terms in their proper context as they relate to anatomy, physiology and pathology of the human body. No previous background in science or biology is needed.

EVERYDAY EXCELLENCE (Newly Revised)

This is a full day course from 8:30AM – 4:30PM

This course examines the importance of customer service in health care and how to turn negative customer interactions into positive experiences. Participants will put themselves in the customer’s shoes and experience how damaging a poor customer experience can be for the organization and the bottom line. They will also examine what triggers poor customer service and how to proactively replace poor customer service with excellence. Participants will clearly understand what patients expect from hospital employees. The course is conducted using a combination of exercises and videos so that adult learners can have a solid understanding of how to implement best practices.

SPANISH FOR HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS

Upon completion of the assessment, registration for this class is through PeopleSoft Self-Service using the course code that will be sent to your email. Phone registration is not available for this class.
The goal of this program is to train and prepare the non-Spanish Health Care Professional in practical Spanish to better interact with Spanish-speaking patients in hospital admission settings and other areas of the Hospital. This course is offered to beginners and intermediate Spanish level students.
Course Code: BPD011 Please note that for Beginners Spanish, no language assessment is required.
