Linda E. Arslanian, PT, DPT, MS, Director of Department of Rehabilitation Services at BWH has been slated to run for the office of Speaker of the House of the American Physical Therapy Association. Dr. Arslanian is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at MGH Institute of Health Professions (MGH IHP). She received her certificate in Physical Therapy from Columbia University, a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Columbia University, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from MGH/IHP. Her undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science was achieved at Springfield College. Her clinical expertise is focused in the areas of acute care and orthopedics with an emphasis in shoulder pathology and rehabilitation. She has a particular interest in the relationship between physical therapy intervention and patient out comes in the acute-care environment.
Dr. Arslanian lectures at several universities on professional ethics, risk management and standards of practice and at national meetings of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). She has also given several national presentations regarding the Standard of Care for Physical Therapy in the acute care setting. An active member of APTA, Dr. Arslanian has been a delegate to the APTA House of Delegates since 1994 and served as a Chief Delegate from 1996 to 1998, and currently serves as Chief Delegate from Massachusetts. She has also served as a member of the APTA Ethics and Judicial Committee, and is currently a member of the Task Force on Professionalism. In April 2002, Dr. Arslanian was awarded the Trudy Lamb Award from Springfield College, Program in Physical Therapy in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the profession of physical therapy. In July 2007 she was awarded the BWH annual Ethics Award, and currently serves on the Hospital’s Ethics Committee.

Staff Profile:

Amy Richardson, OTR/L joined the inpatient occupational therapy service in November 2007. Amy graduated from Worcester State College with a master's degree in occupational therapy in 2003. She has worked for the last three years at an inpatient rehabilitation hospital. She comes to Brigham & Women's Hospital with strong clinical interests in traumatic brain injury, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, and upper extremity rehabilitation.
