The purpose of the simulator is to accurately replicate real life scenarios and to provide participants hands-on experience in a variety of scenarios, including emergency situations, without compromising the safety of an actual patient. Case-based simulations scenarios applicable to anesthesia, critical care, trauma and emergency medicine give students the opportunity to practice diagnosis and treatment across a wide variety of conditions.
The patient simulator provides an interactive learning environment that allows the participant the opportunity to explore and develop critical thinking, gain experience in recognizing problems, develop decision-making skills and problem solving. Additionally the participant is afforded the opportunity to refine technique and procedures, and to experience relatively rare medical cases as well as applying practical skills to real world scenarios.
