Our Services

The mission of the Center is to provide expert medical care in all aspects of hematologic disease treatment.

Clinical care

Our patients are seen in the Adult Hematology Clinic at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This facility includes all the necessary resources to provide comprehensive care for our patients. Hematology patients have access to the Dana One infusion suite, which is used to administer blood products and infusions of medicines such as iron or immune globulin. The infusion room also allows us to promptly treat patients with sickle cell disease who need intravenous pain medications, and patients with bleeding disorders who need factor replacement.

The Hematology Division also runs Dana-Farber's Anticoagulation Service. This centralized, comprehensive management program is available for any Dana Farber patient being treated with warfarin. Our nurse and nurse practitioners provide careful monitoring of lab results, reminder calls to patients, and medical record documentation.

Consultation

Our expert hematologists provide comprehensive consultations and second opinions for all types of hematologic disorders.

Clinical Trials

We offer patients the opportunity to participate in clinical trials for sickle cell disease, hemophilia, ITP, and other disorders.
