When I started feeling fatigue and a crippling tightness in my chest, I went to see a cardiologist. I had lost my mother, brother and sister to heart disease. Now tests confirmed I had it, too. My cardiologist inserted a stent in one narrowed artery, but my symptoms persisted. This cardiologist told me that my electrocardiograms, CT scans and even cardiac catheterization tests indicated that my arteries were clear and that I should be feeling better, but in fact I was feeling worse.
