Understanding the Results
Your test reports may be filled with numbers and scientific terms, but they don’t tell the whole story. How you feel and how you’re able to function are just as important as the information on the page.
When your doctor explains your test results, he or she will also interpret what they mean for you as an individual based on your unique medical history, lifestyle and expectations for treatment.
How Much Information Do You Want?
Each of us has a different appetite for information about our health. You may want to know the specific laboratory values of a blood test, or you may be satisfied just to know whether they’re high, low or normal. Your doctor will discuss your results in as much or as little detail as you want. Then together, you and your doctor can determine your options for treatment and develop a plan for additional therapy.
