Your Care Explained > Recovery : Nutrition

Healthful lifestyle changes are important to improving health and recovery.

Focusing on nutrition is one of the best ways to decrease your cardiovascular risks at any point in time. However, after a cardiac event, it’s especially important to focus on nutrition.

Nutrition and Cardiac Rehab

Women who attend cardiac rehab often meet with a nutritionist or dietician who provides nutritional counseling. The staff evaluates female patients and creates customized diets for each woman.

A variety of topics may be discussed, ranging from general healthy eating to understanding calories, fruits, vegetables, dairy, fats, whole grains, sodium, fiber and more.
