Chemical Peels
Chemical peeling is a cosmetic procedure to rejuvenate the skin. Superficial chemical peels can improve the skin’s texture, treat acne, repair sun damage, and lighten pigmentary changes. Deeper chemical peels may help with fine lines and superficial wrinkles.
Botox
Facial lines or wrinkles are caused to a variable degree by muscle action. When a small amount of purified botulinum toxin (botox) is injected into a muscle, it causes weakness of that muscle, leading to improvement or disappearance of forehead lines, frown lines, bunny lines and crow’s feet. Lines present at rest may not improve. Botox may also be used to treat excessive sweating, a condition called hyperhidrosis.
Fraxel
Fractional Lasers work by heating microscopic columns of skin. Once columns of injury are made by the laser, the body then repairs the columns, often reducing the appearance of scars, wrinkles or brown spots. The Fraxel SR 1500 has FDA clearance for the following conditions: periorbital wrinkles, acne scarring, pigmented lesions, surgical scarring and melasma. The procedure requires multiple treatments. The results are gradual, sometimes not evident until several months after a treatment. It is important to note that wrinkles, scarring and melasma can be improved with this laser, but may not be completely removed.
Hair Removal Lasers
Hair removal lasers work by targeting the pigment within the hair follicle root. Because all hair follicles are not in the growth phase of their lifecycles, it is not possible to eliminate every hair by this or any other hair removal system after a single treatment. On average, greater than 6 treatments are typically necessary to achieve the amount of growth reduction that is desirable. Patients with darker hair colors may experience higher success rates than those with lighter colors. Laser hair removal does not work for white or gray hairs.
Photorejuvination
Photorejuvination with Intense Pulse Light is a light based therapy to make the skin appear more youthful. Intense Pulsed Light treatment relies upon a filtered set of wavelengths to treat broken blood vessels and brown spots.
Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure to rejuvenate the skin. Dermabrasion can improve the skin’s texture and unclog pores.
Photodynamic Therapy
Photodynamic Therapy selectively treats damaged skin cells (such as: precancerous or thin cancerous lesions), sebaceous glands and acne. Photodynamic Therapy works by applying a photosensitizing agent directly on the skin, which then gets activated when visible light and oxygen are present. One week after treatment, your damaged/inflamed skin sheds leaving you with new revitalized skin
Vascular Lasers (Pulse Dye Laser)
This laser treatment removes vascular lesions, such as broken blood vessels (seen in rosacea), cherry angiomas (red growths on the skin), hemangiomas and port wine stains. It works by damaging unwanted small blood vessels in the skin into small pieces that the body can then remove. Sometimes, a lesion will not completely clear but will become lighter; rarely, a vascular lesion may not respond to laser treatment at all.
Q-switched lasers (Removes Brown Spots and Tattoos)
This laser treatment removes brown spots and tattoos by breaking them into smaller pieces so that the body can remove them from the skin. While sun spots usually can be removed in 1 or 2 treatments, tattoos take many laser treatments to fade. Black, green, brown and red tattoos respond the best to laser treatment while the response of other tattoo pigments may be variable.
Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is a popular method for eliminating unsightly veins and superficial telangiectasias (“spider veins”) whereby a solution, called a “sclerosing agent” is injected into the veins. This solution causes the inner wall, or lumen, of the blood vessel to become sticky and swollen, shutting it down and improving the appearance of your skin.
Soft Tissue Augmentation
Tissue Augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that allows for improvement of deep wrinkles and folds in the skin. The most common areas that are augmented include the nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and the upper lip. To maintain augmentation, retreatment will be necessary on a regular basis. Our dermatologists use the highest grade filling agents such as Restylane, Perlane, Radiesse and Sculptra.
