Cancer Information:
Gallbladder Cancer
Gallbladder cancer is a very rare condition. Risk factors include female gender, age, and the presence of gallstones. Early-stage cancers are usually asymptomatic and tend to be found incidentally in gallbladders removed because of the presence of gallstones. More advanced gallbladder cancers can cause jaundice or a mass in the right upper abdomen. Patients diagnosed with this cancer should be evaluated by a surgeon who specializes in hepatobiliary diseases.
