The Division of General and Gastrointestinal Surgery is currently involved in a range of surgical and multi-modality, disease specific, clinical research.
The physicians within this division are committed to the treatment and research of gastrointestinal conditions and diseases as well as cancers of the Colorectal, Sarcomas, Pancreas, Liver and Biliary Ducts, and Thyroid. The research includes protocols, which have been developed by physicians within the Division or in collaboration with physicians from outside BWH. There is a continued effort to provide our patients with the most current novel and therapeutic approaches to their care. In collaboration with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Massachusetts General Hospital, our patients are provided with an opportunity to participate in an investigational clinical trial or standard therapeutic approach based on the individualized patient.
