Patients wishing to schedule an appointment with a BWH physician should call the Patient Referral Service number: 1-800-294-9999. This number is staffed 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Patient referral representatives can help patients choose an appropriate physician and then schedule an initial appointment with that physician. Bilingual patient referral representatives are on staff.
For Physicians
The Division of Genetics welcomes physician inquiries. Use the direct number of the toll-free Brigham and Women’s Physician Referral Service — 1-800-MD to BWH (1-800-638-6294) — to access information about services and resources, to speak with a physician, or to consult about a patient or to refer a patient. This number is staffed 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. A representative can direct you to the physician with whom you wish to speak, as well as facilitate consultations and second opinions.
BWH is committed to developing a seamless transition between primary care and tertiary referral; duplicate tests will be avoided as much as possible.
