An infertile couple is one that has been unable to become pregnant after one year of trying. About 20% of couples who are trying to become pregnant will be successful in the first month; 50% after 3 months of trying; 75% after 6 months of trying; and 85-90% after 12 months of trying. About 10-13% of couples do not get pregnant even after a year of trying. With more and more women delaying childbearing because of careers and other life choices, infertility is on the rise.
