Who We Are
Hospital Medicine is a unique specialty composed of physicians leading, directing, and improving inpatient care with the patient at the center. The Hospitalist Service, established at Brigham and Women's Hospital in 1998, has expanded to include the medical consult service and four general medical teams, which include the PACE service. We also care for patients at Faulkner Hospital. The BWF Hospitalist Service is staffed by physicians and physician assistants, trained in internal medicine and other medical specialties.
Hospitalist Mission
To promote high quality, efficient, comprehensive, compassionate inpatient care for all patients that also addresses issues related to health disparities and socio-economic status
To excel as educators in conveying the principles of evidence based inpatient medicine to fellows, residents, colleagues, students and patients
To be national leaders in hospital medicine and agents of change in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety, and clinical research
