Rapid Desensitization Program -- Dr. Mariana Castells
Department of Medicine's Clinical Innovation Program Support 2004 Awardee. The creation of a desensitization program will provide enhanced quality of life to our patients with allergies to medications necessary to sustain their life or treat their condition. Patients with severe infections allergic to their antibiotic therapy, diabetic patients with insulin allergy, cancer patients with hypersensitivity reactions to their chemotherapy, arthritis patients with adverse reactions to their monoclonal antibody therapy, and cardiac patients allergic to aspirin will be able to receive their needed medications .
