1. Does your program guarantee a position for the General Surgery Internship?
Yes. Our program is integrated with Brigham and Women’s Hospital General Surgery residency program. If you match with us for Neurosurgery, you are automatically guaranteed a position for your General Surgery internship year. There is no need to apply separately to General Surgery unless you choose to do so for other reasons.
2. What matching program do you use?
We will be participating in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and the web-based National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
3. What kind of application do you accept?
We require that application be made through the the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and the web-based National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
4. When and how will you notify candidates about interviews?
All applicants selected for interview will be contacted via phone and email.
5. Does your program accept International Medical Graduates (IMGs)?
Yes, as long as candidates meet certain requirements. Childrens and Brigham and Women’s Program supports the use of the J-1 and H1B1 Visas. Every application is considered on an individual basis. All IMGs, however, must be certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
