Support Groups
Here at the Mary Horrigan Connors Center for Women’s Health, we are committed to providing the highest quality of care to the babies in our care and their families. As part of our efforts, we are proud to offer meetings of the Parent Information Group. As a new parent, we understand that there are many special questions you might have concerning the care of your child. At NICU Parent Information Group meetings, we present topics related to the well-being of your child, as well as provide you with an opportunity to ask questions about any issues of concern.
Topics at recent Parent Information Group meetings have included:
- Successful Breastfeeding
- Nutrition
- Developmental Care
- Safe Sleep
- Feeding Your Baby
- Infection Prevention
- Planning for Discharge
Experts are present at every Parent Information Group meeting. Recent presenters have included:
Steven Ringer, M.D., Ph.D., Director of the NICU
Eric Eichenwald, M.D., Associate Director of the NICU
Deirdre Ellard, M.S., R.D., C.N.S.D., Neonatal Dietician
Maureen Allen, R.N., B.S.N., I.B.C.L.C., NICU Lactation Consultant
Marie Field, R.N., Clinical Educator
Parent Information Group meetings are held every other week. Look for signs and flyers for specific dates. No sign-up is necessary and all Brigham and Women’s Hospital parents are welcome. Meetings take place Wednesday nights at 6:30 in the Atrium seating area on the 6th floor of the Connors Center. Light refreshments are served.
