Description: This is a fully accredited two-year training program in neuropathology based at the Children’s Hospital Boston, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, with a rotation at the Massachusetts General Hospital, and affiliated with Harvard Medical School. The trainee is expected to develop skills in diagnostic neuropathology of surgical and autopsy cases including the interpretation of lesions by light and electron microscopy, enzyme histochemistry, and immunohistochemistry. Trainees also participate in teaching fellow residents in related disciplines and medical student at Harvard Medical School. Opportunities for research collaboration with staff members are available in the areas of Alzheimer’s disease, neurotoxicology, and developmental and neuromuscular neurobiology. Faculty members of allied services from all hospitals also accept residents for research training.
Requirements: Candidates should be Board-eligible or certified in anatomic pathology or neurology.
