Physical Examinations
A physical examination is usually performed for new patients, and many adult patients have physical examinations after that every year or so. This may include examinations which are appropriate for your gender and age, such as pelvic exams, pap smears, breast exams, rectal and prostate exams, etc. Also, if blood tests or other items such as skin tests, urine analysis, X rays, etc. are necessary, they can be done within this facility, most on a same day basis. Other tests which are recommended for some people after physical examinations, such as mammograms, EKGs, echocardiogram, treadmill tests, etc. can also be done within this facility.

After you have seen your primary physician at BPP, your prescriptions may be renewed by telephone. Call 617-983-7099, and follow the voice instructions; you will have to press 1, then press 2, then 1 again. This will get you to the prescription refill line. Please leave the following information on this voice mail line: 1. Your name; 2. Your BWH ID number, or your date of birth; 3. Your telephone number; 4. Your pharmacy name and location, and the telephone number if you know it; 5. The name of the medication you want to renew; the dose of that medication you take; how often you take it; and how many pills or tablets you want. (For instance, "I take Zestril 20 milligram tablets once a day, please give me 30"). Renewal by telephone can be very convenient for medications you take on a regular basis. It may take 24 hours for the prescription to be called in, so don't wait too long to call. This service is not appropriate for some medications, such as antibiotics or controlled substances (like narcotics) or medications you have not taken before. These requests should be discussed with your doctor.
