Q. How do I apply to residency program at BWH?
A. You must apply through ERAS. (http://www.nrmp.org)
Q. What is application deadline?
A. November 1st, 2007.
Q. When will invitations to interview be sent out?
A. November 20th, 2007.
Q. How many days does your program interview?
A. 8 days.
Q. What are the 2007-2008 interview dates?
A. Jan. 15 - 18 and Jan. 22 - 25, 2008.
Q. What is USMLE cutoff score?
A. There is no USMLE cutoff score; the screening committee reviews each application and
considers the USMLE score in the context of the entire application.
Q. How many letters of recommendation do you require?
A. 3 letters.
Q. Do you require US clinical experience prior to radiology residency?
A. Radiology residency requires one ACGME-accredited clinical training year (internship)
prior to starting radiology residency. Most of our residents complete internships in medicine,
surgery, or transitional year internships. These transitional year programs are also applied
for through ERAS.
Q. Do you offer a Transitional year as part of your program?
A. No.
Q. Do you have a cutoff for year of medical school graduation?
A. No.
Q. Do you accept international medical graduates into your program?
A. Yes, if screening criteria are met.
Q. Do you currently have any international medical graduates in your program?
A. Yes.
Q. Does your program sponsor any Visas?
A. If an applicant is ECFMG certified and has completed and passed USMLE Step 1, 2, 3,
then the program will support the H1B visa.
Q. How many residents are you planning to accept for the entering radiology residency class of 2008-2009?
A. 10.
Q. How many applicants do you interview?
A. 102.
Q. How long is the interview day?
A. 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Q. How many interviews will I have?
A. You will have 3 interviews plus the Program Director and Director Admissions.
Q. Do you offer any Special Pathways?
A. Yes. We supports three specialized pathways -
1. Holman Research Pathway
2. DIRECT (Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Enhanced Clinical Training and Certification Pathway)
3. PEDRAP (Pediatric Emphasis Diagnostic Radiology Alternative Pathway)
Q. Is there a separate notch for the Special Pathways?
A. No. Applicants interested in Special Pathways apply through the general Radiology.
