The mission of the Division of Renal (Kidney) Medicine at BWH is to provide quality care to patients with all types of acute and chronic diseases of the kidney, while maintaining an outstanding RESEARCH program to create new knowledge relevant to the normal and diseased kidney, and educating the next generation of leading academic kidney physicians and scientists.

The Division has been recognized by US News and World Report to have the number one kidney program in the United States for four out of the last five years. The Division is recognized internationally for its outstanding faculty who have made seminal contributions to the field of nephrology and for outstanding CLINICAL care.
