Postdoc Q & A Lunches
GOT QUESTIONS?
Beginning a postdoctoral fellowship can be an exciting and challenging time. Learning to navigate a large and complex organization like BWH, while simultaneously embarking upon your research, can be daunting if not overwhelming. How do you find your way around Boston? How do you choose a project? How do you set lab goals? Where do you find a mentor? Becoming a more senior Postdoc has different challenges. Where do you publish and what's more important - the quantity of publications or the quality of the journal? How do you know when you're ready to start looking for a job? How do you network? What if your career choice is different from that of your PI?
Whatever your questions are, Postdoc Q & A Lunches provide a safe place to ask others for advice and perspectives. These open forum discussions allow for Postdocs to learn from each other, and share questions and challenges of common concern regarding all aspects of Postdoc life. Lunches are hosted by a member of the Postdoc Leadership Council (PLC). The PLC are BWH Postdocs who actively involved in shaping Postdoc activities at BWH in conjunction with the Office for Research Careers (ORC).
We welcome all postdocs to attend a session, whether to participate or just to listen and observe.
