Jaime Bayona, MD, a leader in international health and social medicine, is an authority on programmatic approaches to the control of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis. He received his MD in 1986 from The School of Medicine, National University of Trujillo in Peru and his MPH in 1992 from the Joint Center for Public Health Studies, College of Medicine, University of Wales, UK. With his clinical interests focused on community-based primary care in Peru, Dr. Bayona helped to found and is currently Director of Socios En Salud Sucursal in Lima, Peru. Dr. Bayona is also an instructor at the School of Public Health, Peruvian University of Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru and lectures at Harvard Medical School.
