Keith Joseph, MD completed an infectious diseases fellowship at Columbia University and returned full-time to Brigham and Women’s in 2006. During his time at Columbia, Dr. Joseph was closely involved in a major project to scale up HIV/AIDS treatment on the border between Haiti and the Dominican Republic. In this capacity, he brought to bear his extensive experience in rural Haiti, where he developed a network of Partners In Health treatment sites across the Central Plateau. Since completion of his fellowship in July, Dr. Joseph has also been active in the launch of a new HIV/AIDS treatment project run by Hatch Scholar Jennifer Furin in the mountains of the African nation of Lesotho. The program has already tested hundreds of people for the HIV virus and put 170 on treatment. In 2007, Dr. Joseph will begin his newest project, leading the launch of the newest Partners In Health/Brigham and Women’s project in Malawi, the third project in rural Africa undertaken with the Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative. Dr. Joseph completed his clinical training in the combined Harvard Internal Medicine/Pediatrics program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Children’s Hospital of Boston in 2001, following his graduation from Harvard Medical School.
