Community Health Assets and Needs Assessment

The BWH community health assets and needs assessment (CHNA) identifies community health assets, needs, and opportunities to improve community health and health equity in the hospital’s five priority neighborhoods of Dorchester, Mattapan, Mission Hill, Jamaica Plain, and Roxbury. The CHNA is a key source document for community health planning processes. Non-profit hospitals are required to conduct a CHNA every three years to meet federal and state requirements, including the provisions of the Affordable Care Act.

The 2022 BWH CHNA builds upon the foundation of past assessments and has been shaped through the hospital’s participation in the Boston CHNA-CHIP Collaborative.
