George M. Player, CPE, FMA, Vice President, Facilities and Operations

George PlayerPlayer is responsible for the physical environments, safety and all operational support departments throughout the distributed campus across the Brigham. He joined Brigham and Women’s Hospital in 1996 and has more 33 years of facilities experience and over 25 years in health care.

Player leads the business development, strategic analysis and improvement process of the service programs within his departments. He ensures that the hospital meets or exceeds all current codes and regulations and promotes the growth and development of his staff. In addition, Player has also consulted on Brigham projects such as the design and launch of Boao Evergrande International Hospital in affiliation with Brigham and Women’s Hospital, located in China, and two Medical City projects in Saudi Arabia with World Care International.

Player earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Massachusetts Maritime Academy and holds Certified Plant Engineer and Facility Management Administrator certificates.
