Cormack Appointed Fellow of the AAPM

Robert Cormack, PhD

Robert Cormack, PhD, has been elected a fellow of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) for his contributions in research, education and leadership in the medical physics community. The award was presented at the American Association of Physicists (AAPM) in Medicine’s 58th Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., on Aug. 1.

Cormack is a physicist in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center. During his career, he has mentored over 20 fellows or residents, contributes to AAPM’s continuing education programs and helped establish the Harvard Medical Physics Residency Program. In addition to serving on multiple AAPM task groups, he oversees the continuing education aspects of the New England AAPM chapter meetings. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and nine book chapters to date.

The American Association of Physicists in Medicine is a professional organization of 8,500 medical physicists, and supports the medical physics community with a focus on advancing patient care through education, improving safety and efficacy of radiation oncology and medical imaging procedures.
