Tullius Elected Treasurer of The Transplantation Society

Stefan G. Tullius, MD, PhD, chief of BWH's Division of Transplant Surgery, was recently elected treasurer of The Transplantation Society (TTS) for a four-year term.

The society provides global leadership in the clinical practice and advancement of organ transplantation, focuses on basic science and clinical research, and promotes ethical standards for clinical care and scientific investigation. TTS is the world's largest transplant society, with more than 6,700 members from more than 105 countries. Tullius had previously been a councilor for North America for TTS. He also chairs the society’s Transplantation Science Committee and serves as executive editor of Transplantation.

In addition to his work as a transplant surgeon and with TTS, Tullius directs the NIH-funded Transplant Surgery Research Laboratory at BWH and serves as Region 1 (New England) associate councilor for the United Network of Organ Sharing.
