Rotenstein Named 2021 STAT Wunderkind

Lisa Rotenstein, MD, MBA

Lisa Rotenstein, MD, MBA, of the Department of Medicine, was named a 2021 STAT Wunderkind for her groundbreaking work investigating the connections between healthcare infrastructure and physician burnout. This award recognizes the work of early-career scientists.

The STAT Wunderkind initiative celebrates unrecognized heroes in science and medicine, specifically identifying physicians and researchers on the cusp of launching their careers who are not yet fully independent.

Rotenstein’s research focuses on the intersections of healthcare and business management. She studies how the infrastructure of medicine, such as electronic health care records and patient messaging portals, can influence the wellbeing and practices of physicians. She aims to use this research to decrease burnout, increase diversity in medicine and improve healthcare outcomes.
