Cheryl Clark, MD, ScD, of the Division of General Medicine and Primary Care, and Jose Orejas, MD, of the Division of Infectious Disease Research, received the Inaugural Equity, Social Justice and Advocacy Award from Harvard Medical School (HMS) and Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM).
This award recognizes individuals at HMS/HSDM and within the HMS/HSDM-affiliate community who advance equity, social justice and advocacy: contributions that affirm the HMS mission, HMS community values and medical professionalism.
Clark is a hospitalist whose research focuses on understanding the ways social determinants of health impact equity and the risk and resiliency factors underlying cancer and metabolic diseases. She is also the associate chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine & Primary Care, Equity Research & Strategic Partnerships.
Orejas is a physician and post-doctoral fellow with research interests in communicable diseases, epidemiology and population health. He develops clinical trials in transplant infectious diseases.
