RonAsia Rouse, MPH Brian Chen, DPT

RonAsia Rouse, MPH, program manager in the Center for Community Health and Health Equity, and Brian Chen, DPT, at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital (BWFH), have been named 2021 YMCA Achievers for their demonstrated history of professional achievement and community service. Rouse and Chen will support Boston YMCA community youth initiatives by mentoring students in the Boston area as part of this initiative.

YMCA Achievers is a program designed to provide critical support to low-income and first-generation college-bound students. The Achievers program annually serves 250 high school students from Boston and the surrounding communities, targeting 6th-12th grade students aspiring to attend college.

Rouse is the health equity program manager in the Center for Community Health and Health Equity. In addition to her work within the Brigham, she is a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and the Student Success Jobs Program, which matches students in the Boston area with mentors and paid internships across the Brigham.

Chen is a physical therapist at BWFH. He also volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and the Manning School and sits on BWFH’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.

For over 40 years, the Greater Boston YMCA Achievers Program has provided an invaluable connection between the corporate world and the local community by developing and conducting programming that allows young people to become linked to education, business and industry.
