O'Donoghue Named Inaugural Incumbent of The McGillycuddy-Logue Distinguished Chair in Cardiology

Michelle O’Donoghue, MD, MPH, of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, was named the inaugural incumbent of The McGillycuddy-Logue Distinguished Chair in Cardiology during a celebration held on May 17.

O’Donoghue is a cardiovascular medicine specialist and a senior investigator in the Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) Study Group. She is also a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School. Her research focuses the design and conduct of multicenter clinical trials for patients with stable and unstable heart disease. Additional clinical research interests include the evaluation of novel antiplatelet and lipid therapies, established and novel biomarkers, the study of women and heart disease and the development of novel therapeutics in the management of acute coronary syndromes.

This distinguished chair was established thanks to the generosity of Kathleen McGillycuddy and Ron Logue, and will fuel O’Donoghue’s work as a clinician-scientist and mentor, helping countless patients around the world.
