Julian Pribaz, MD, of the Department of Plastic Surgery at BWH, has been chosen as the 2011 American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (ASRM), Harry J. Buncke Lecturer, known as the “Nobel Prize” equivalent in Reconstructive Microsurgery. The award honors the memory of Dr. Harry Buncke, a pioneer and mentor in the field of microsurgery who developed many of the techniques and instrumentation to do microsurgery. Nominated by his peers at ASRM, Dr. Pribaz is recognized for his extensive work in microsurgery. Dr. Pribaz delivered the lecture on January 18 in Cancun, Mexico, titled, “Will the ‘Brave-New-World’ of Transplantation be the Answer to the Limitations of Reconstructive Surgery.”
