Brigham Earns Another 'A' for Patient Safety in Spring 2022 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade

BOSTON – Brigham and Women’s Hospital received an ‘A’ Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for the spring of 2022, The Leapfrog Group announced today. The honor marks the ninth ‘A’ grade earned by the Brigham since the fall of 2017. This national distinction recognizes the Brigham’s achievements in protecting patients from preventable harm in the hospital.

“We are extremely proud to receive another ‘A’ grade from The Leapfrog Group. This honor is a testament to the Brigham’s commitment to ensuring our patients receive safe and dependable health care,” said Sonali Desai, MD, MPH, Interim Chief Quality Officer at the Brigham. “This achievement is made possible by our exemplary team of caregivers, staff, volunteers and leadership, who are dedicated to providing top-tier care for our patients and their families.”

Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group, said, “As our health care system continues to feel the strain of the pandemic, I thank the workforce and leadership of Brigham and Women’s Hospital for sustained commitment to patient safety, day in and day out. An ‘A’ Safety Grade is an outstanding achievement, and one that is not possible without a 24/7 effort by the entire health care workforce to protect patients from harm. This community should be proud.”
