Dr. Zhou is a staff anesthesiologist at the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine, Brigham and Women’s Hospital. His main focuses of clinical practice are in Obstetric Anesthesia, Neuro Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine. Dr. Zhou graduated from Suzhou Medical College. He completed his clinical Neurosurgery residency and fellowship in China and Japan. He was a post-doctoral fellow in Department of Neurological Surgery, University of Virginia. Dr. Zhou later completed a Medical Informatics Fellowship at the School of Medicine, University of California Davis. He graduated with an MBA with focus in Healthcare Management and Information Technology from the School of Management, University of California Davis. He completed an Anesthesia residency and fellowship in Obstetric Anesthesia at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
The research undertaken in the Zhou laboratory focuses around the clinical aspects of obstetric anesthesia, neuro anesthesia and the obstetrics related neurological and neurosurgical conditions. The laboratory also tests cutting-edge high-tech material, equipment and innovational approaches to improve anesthesia quality and care to patients. One the goals of the laboratory is to identify novel pathways to find solutions for patients with complicated neurological and neurosurgical conditions to go through peripartum or perioperative periods.
