Dermatology Education and Training

The Department of Dermatology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital has a strong and longstanding commitment to medical education and training. As an example, in 2017-2018 alone, BWH Dermatology hosted 256 trainees at various levels in its clinics. The Department participates in the Harvard Combined Dermatology Residency Training Program. The Harvard Combined Dermatology Residency Training program is a multi-institutional program that includes multiple Harvard Medical School associated institutions. In addition, the BWH Department of Dermatology has multiple advanced dermatology fellowships, one of which is ACGME approved and four of which are approved by Graduate Medical Education.

All BWH Dermatology-based fellowships strive to fulfill the mission of training leaders in academic Dermatology. Furthermore, the BWH Department of Dermatology hosts three medical student rotations for Harvard Medical Students and for medical students visiting from other medical schools, both nationally and internationally. The Dermatology Clinical Clerkship rotation is consistently the most requested fourth year medical student dermatology elective and receives excellent feedback.
