Helping Launch a New Simulation Center in India

Need

In 2008, SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre in Chennai, India, was contemplating the development of a simulation center for their hospital and medical school. They had limited experience with such an endeavor and sought help from people who had "been there and done that.”

Intervention

SRM turned to STRATUS for help through a comprehensive consulting engagement that stretched over several years and involved multiple meetings, both face-to-face and via video conferencing. The work included a needs assessment, consultation with designers and engineers, assistance with simulator and supporting equipment selection, staff selection and training, curriculum development, co-branding and much more.

Impact

SRM/STRATUS opened in 2011 and is now one of the most successful simulation centers in India. As evidence of their success, SRM hosted India’s first national conference on simulation in June 2013.
