Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) is proud to have a long history of breakthroughs that span every facet of cardiovascular care. This includes performing the first successful heart transplant in New England and the first successful valve surgery in the world to being the first to prove that aspirin can prevent a heart attack.
Heart disease, however, continues to be the leading cause of death in both men and women in the United States. BWH continues to fight the disease with pioneering research that will improve the lives of our patients and their families. When you contribute to our Heart and Vascular Center Innovation Fund, you enable our highly-skilled physician-scientists to conduct research and find new ways to treat and prevent this life-threatening illness.
