The Challenge
As members of the Mass General Brigham integrated delivery system, Brigham clinicians often work closely with care teams at neighboring practices, hospitals, and nursing and rehabilitation facilities. In order to simplify the process of sharing clinical information across this system, Mass General Brigham introduced a single electronic medical record.
Our Solution
eCare, our new electronic medical record, was launched in May of 2015, and Brigham and Women's was the first entity in the Mass General Brigham System to implement it in the clinical setting. It aims to improve population health management, provide embedded clinical intelligence for providers, and enable patients to be more connected with their care team across organizations included in the Mass General Brigham system. As is customary with the implementation of any new technology, the initial learning curve is quite steep, and the technology requires constant improvement.
Results to Date
Achieved one year of eCare implementation.
