Marissa received her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Quinnipiac University and began her PA career in Cardiac Surgery at MGH. She later joined the PACE BWH Hospital Medicine service, where she served as Co-Chief PA and fostered exponential growth of the service for the last 10 years. At BWH, she has participated in both the CPIP and Brigham Leadership Programs and has been a leader and champion for quality improvement projects in the Department of Medicine. She became the first BWH PA to serve as Hospital Medicine Unit Medical Director. Marissa served in the Massachusetts Association of Physician Assistants (MAPA) for two terms (4 years) as Director at Large and was PA Co-Dyad leader for BWH inpatient services during the COVID surge. She continues to work clinically on the PACE team.

As the PA Education Manager, Carrie has oversight and management of the BWH PA Student program, Pre-PA shadowing, mentoring programs and PA professional and educational development at the local and MGB level. Carrie’s Brigham affiliation dates back to 2001 when she first started her career as a PA. Carrie returned to the Cath Lab in early 2015 and is now a Senior PA on the Interventional Cardiology Service, where she will remain clinically while in this role. She completed her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

Carrie has been instrumental in developing and implementing a STRATUS Center Cath Lab Orientation course for incoming cardiology fellows, new PA hires, Cath lab technologists and PA students. She received the "STRATUS Center Staff Educator of the Year" Award for these efforts in 2022-2023. Carrie continues to coordinate educational opportunities for the PAs in her department, including a Cardiovascular POCUS course. She has been an instrumental member of the inaugural BWH PA Leadership Council serving as the Co-Chair of the Continuing Education Subcommittee and looks forward to continuing her work developing new educational opportunities at BWH and MGB.
