Brigham and Women’s Physician Assistant Services

BWH has more than 500 Physician Assistants (PAs) working in a variety of settings at all of our locations. Physician Assistants (PAs) are licensed by the State Medical Board, certified by the National Certification Commission for PAs (NCCPA) and privileged by BWH. We are the largest employer of PAs in Massachusetts and one of the largest employers in the country. PAs are an integral piece of healthcare delivery within BWH.

Mission: BWH PA Services seeks to support the rapidly growing PA community at BWH through a commitment to leadership, education, transparency, and equity. Brigham and Women's Hospital physician assistants (PAs) are valued members of our team, working alongside physicians, nurses and technicians.

PA Services seeks to advance BWH’s PA providers and acts as a resource for:

  • Scope of practice
  • Policies and Regulations
  • Billing
  • Compliance
  • Staffing, utilization, and retention strategies
  • Career and professional development
  • Continuing Education
  • Collaborates with Human Resources and Talent Acquisition to assist in recruitment of PAs
  • Coordination of PA Student Clinical Rotations
