The Department of Neurosurgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) in Boston provides world-class neurosurgery services. Our Boston Neurosurgeon Team has a long tradition of excellence going back to 1913 when Dr. Harvey Cushing first established American neurosurgery at BWH. Today, our internationally recognized neurosurgeons, who are all faculty at Harvard Medical School in Boston, continue to build on the distinguished history of this founding team by offering state-of-the-art neurosurgical services.

The Department's staff of neurosurgeons in Boston consists of more than 13 clinical faculty and over 100 department members dedicated to providing comprehensive care for patients across the entire spectrum of neurological disorders. The Department provided more than 2,600 surgical and 8,400 clinic visits in 2009 alone, treating patients from Boston, across the US and around the world.
