Brigham and Women’s Immune Deficiency Clinic

The Immune Deficiency Clinic is a research and patient-care group of allergy and immunology experts devoted to advancing the health of patients with primary and acquired immune deficiency. The focus of patient care includes developing evidence-based and scientifically-informed individualized management plans.

How We Can Help

We see patients with a broad range of immune deficiencies and immune dysregulation. These conditions include:

  • Primary immunodeficiencies such as common variable immune deficiency, chronic granulomatous disease, hyper immunoglobulin E syndromes
  • Secondary immunodeficiencies due to therapy for autoimmune or oncologic conditions
  • We also evaluate individuals with abnormal or concerning immunological laboratory values for further immune evaluation.
  • We offer advanced diagnostic testing of immune function.
  • We are able to develop scientifically-informed therapeutic options in circumstances where clinical trial data are rare or absent.
  • Patients in the immune deficiency clinic have opportunities to be involved in research aimed to shed light on relationships between immune fitness and autoimmunity.
  • We collaborate closely with several other specialties, including Hematology/Oncology, Rheumatology, Pulmonary, Infectious Disease, Genetics, and Gastroenterology.

What Sets Us Apart

The integration of clinical care and research programs offers deeper diagnostic opportunities and treatment options, including personalized and precision medical options.
