Department of Medicine Fellowships

The Department of Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) is committed to providing educational opportunities for medical professionals, residents, and fellows. Our goal is to train the future leaders and innovators in the field of Medicine.

Fellowships

The Department of Medicine sponsors both ACGME-accredited and nonaccredited subspecialty fellowships. Several of the fellowships are joint programs with other Harvard Medical School-affiliated institutions. Young physicians, including many from the department’s own residency programs, seek subspecialty training in our programs each year. Clinical fellows staff inpatient services, attend ambulatory clinics, and serve as mentors for both medical students and residents rotating through the specialty service. The fellowship programs at the Department of Medicine also extend to include a research year. Each year, graduates from our fellowship programs are selected as new junior faculty, both at BWH and at other prestigious institutions.
