Preventive Genomics Clinic

Now available through telemedicine

The Preventive Genomics Clinic, led by Dr. Robert Green, provides innovative screening and cutting edge genomic information for healthy adults in order to predict and potentially prevent the onset of disease.

We go beyond the typical diagnostic application of genetic testing. Our geneticists and genetic counselors will review your personal and family medical histories in order to provide genetics education and counseling specific to your needs. They will help you make an individualized decision on which genes should be examined and discuss the limitations and potential benefits of broader genetic tests, such as whole genome sequencing.

Preventive genomic screening test options include:

  • Whole Genome Sequencing
  • Pharmacogenomic testing
  • Polygenic Risk Scores
  • Proactive gene panels

After results have been returned, you may have a follow-up visit to review and explain the results and discuss any implications for your current healthcare. For some patients, the results will offer the ability to make proactive healthcare decisions that may improve your future health and provide important information for your family.

Reasons for referral could include:

  • Preventive genomic sequencing for healthy individuals
  • Genetic risk assessment for adopted individuals
  • Guidance for follow up on direct-to-consumer genetic testing results

The service does have an out-of-pocket charge for testing, clinical consultation, results interpretation, and personalized recommendations.
