Brigham and Women's Hospital runs the adult site of the Boston Hemophilia Center, the largest hemophilia program in New England. As a federally funded hemophilia treatment center and joint program with the Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, the program provides seamless care to people with hemophilia and other bleeding disorders from childhood through adulthood.
The Boston Hemophilia Center team offers treatment for hemophilia A and B, von Willebrand disease, platelet disorders, and rare factor deficiencies. We work to monitor all aspects of living with a bleeding disorder, so that our patients and families receive the best care possible. Our care model emphasizes multidisciplinary care and encourages patient and family participation. Patients are offered full-service outpatient and hospital services, and we involve as many specialists as needed in the following areas:
Our Center's philosophy of care is to treat the whole family through ongoing supervision of all the medical and psychosocial aspects of bleeding disorders. Our services include but are not limited to the following:
As the regional referral center for patients with bleeding disorders, patients come to us from all over New England. We also treat patients from many other states and several countries around the world. Pediatric patients at Boston Children's Hospital are transitioned to our adult site by age 22.

Our Factor Program seamlessly integrates cost-effective pharmacy services with your comprehensive care. All patients of the Boston Hemophilia Center are eligible for the Factor Program. The services we provide are comparable to and in many regards better than those provided by large for-profit home-care companies, because in contrast to outside delivery services, our pharmacy staff is an integral part of the clinical team.
